YOUR TREE HERE

Restoration in Action

We are restoring 100+ hectares of previously cleared pastureland to

lush New Zealand native forest and grasslands.

Your support allow us to establish a planting(s) on your behalf and manage their growth in the critical first five years.

Once planted (within six months of donation during the premium planting season), we will send you the geolocation of the area

where your planting was done so you can join us in watching the growth for generations to come.

One (1) Tree

One tree can make a whole world of difference! When you purchase one native New Zealand tree, you’re not just adding a plant to the landscape, you’re giving biodiversity a boost! One tiny seedling can grow into a lush haven for a plethora of native bird, insect, and even lizard species. Plus, think of the bees! Native New Zealand trees are rich in pollen and plant food and medicine for our native species no matter how big or small.

Big impact, small action. One tree = a lifetime of life.

Five (5) Trees

Plant just five native New Zealand trees and you’re not just adding to the stunning scenery, you’re breaking ground on an entire neighbourhood of life. Five trees can grow a feast for native bird species such as the kererū and tui, become nesting grounds for pīwakawaka and South Island robins, and a thriving haven for insects.

Think of it as buying real estate for nature: five plots, endless potential, and a whole lot of wild new tenants just waiting to move in!

Preserving nature's song together

It takes expert care

Your native New Zealand trees begin their lives in the dedicated hands of our Wingatui Glasshouses team. From the very start, every tree is part of a beautiful and respectful journey.

Our team source and forage kākano, seeds and seedlings, always mindful of whakapapa and place. Lovingly tended and nurtured, the team care for and plant a wide variety of natives from the mighty tōtara and kauri, to the grass and swamp land harakeke, flax, plus many more taonga species.

When planting season arrives, your trees are planted with the same care they received from seed, becoming part of the story or restoration in action.

You play a vital part in this regeneration process, directly sharing in the return of the unique and stunning biodiversity of the Otago Peninsula.

When planting season arrives, you can see where your precious native New Zealand tree will grow and thrive for generations to come. To ensure your trees are given the best chance to thrive, we plant at the optimal time of year — between May and September each year.

Your Tree Here is a meaningful way to be part of long-term restoration in action initiative.
Become a kaitiaki, a guardian of nature, and help future generations enjoy a rich biodiversity of native
forests, species, and habitats, and ensure that together, we are preserving nature’s song.
